The Lady Nun Vows Revenge

The Silent 694

After Adeline entered, Sophie immediately looked at Eliza with a smile and said, "Well? Want to come in and take a look? Of course, if you're scared, you can just stay outside like a coward."

Right now, she was standing right at the doorway. And her King Parasite was in that room.

She was naturally determined to lure Eliza in as well.

As long as Eliza entered that room, there would be no escape.

Such a golden opportunity made Sophie unusually calm, even a bit patient.

But her tactics seemed utterly clumsy in Eliza's eyes. She knew Sophie was trying to provoke her.

Eliza gave her a faint glance.

So this room held Sophie's trump card. And it was a dangerous one.

'What could it be...?' As Eliza pondered, a signal was suddenly sent to her from within the room by Vexara. Eliza's brows lifted slightly, and she smiled.

'So that's how it is,' she thought. She hadn't expected a surprise gain from this trip.

"Then let's go in. Hopefully you haven't already tortured Caleb to death," Eliza said with a smile, and began walking steadily into the room.

Dale held back his urge to rush in and see his son. He cautiously followed beside Eliza, like a guard or someone waiting for her instructions at any time.

Not because he feared death, but because he knew his wife had just repeatedly offended Eliza.

If he acted rashly again, he might truly anger her beyond reconciliation.

And by then, no one could save their family.

Besides, Dale had seen clearly just now. At this point, Sophie's full attention seemed to be on Eliza. That meant his wife and son were not in immediate danger.

So all he needed to do was follow Eliza.

He trusted that Eliza would act soon. And when she did, it would be his moment to strike as well.

He was not a weakling waiting to be rescued.

He followed Eliza into the room.

The two exchanged glances and stationed themselves outside the doorway, one on each side, their gazes falling on the two dazed servants nearby. Unexpectedly, Renee and Rafe didn't enter.

She cried, "Caleb, wake up, your mother's here!"

Inside the room, a hoarse voice slowly rang out. "Mom?"

Sophie suddenly turned her head, confusion on her face as she looked toward the bed. Caleb actually woke up.

Her King Parasite was still in Caleb's body, continuously controlling him. Unless she retrieved it, there was no way he could regain consciousness.

Sensing that something was wrong, Sophie slammed the door shut with a bang, then quickly rushed to the bed.

"Caleb?"

To her surprise, Caleb was really awake.

☐ 22%.

His eyes were no longer the empty ones from before. Though still a bit unfocused, there was a clear trace of vitality now.

"Mom... it hurts... it hurts so much..." Caleb looked like he was about to cry.

Just half a moment ago, he had suddenly woken up.

And as soon as he woke, the pain from all the torture he'd endured under Sophie came crashing down on him.

It felt like his entire body had been skinned and dismembered, his bones crushed and blood drained.

Every inch of him was in agony. It was so painful that he wished he could pass out again.

But somehow, despite all of it, his mind remained unusually clear. Even clearer than before. He couldn't even lose consciousness.

All he could do was endure the searing pain. Fortunately, it didn't take long before he heard voices from outside.

He heard Sophie's voice and his mother's.

Maybe it was a hallucination, but he thought he even heard Eliza's voice, his former fiancée.

If Caleb hadn't been so obsessed and insisted on breaking the engagement last year, he could have been happily married to her by now.

Instead, he traded that future for a woman more terrifying than any demon. Caleb regretted it so much.

He had ruined all his happiness with his own hands.

He'd even dragged his parents and the entire Marquis's estate down with him.

And yet, he was like a useless wreck, lying here, unable to do a thing.

Tears slipped from the corners of Caleb's eyes as he gazed weakly at his tearful mother.

"Run... Mom... Dad... Go... Don't... don't worry about me..." He struggled to speak those words.

But Adeline, who was clutching his hand, shook her head and choked back a sob. "No. I won't run. Don't worry. I've brought someone to save us. I'll take you out of here!"

Sophie sneered coldly upon hearing this.

"Want to leave? Not so easy." Her voice was cold.

The moment Caleb heard it, his whole body trembled uncontrollably. He was terrified of her.

Seeing this only made Adeline's heart ache more. She gripped her son's hand tightly and glared at Sophie. “Didn't the Holy Lady already agree to your terms? What more do you want?"

"She did agree, true. But the person hasn't been delivered to me yet. You don't actually think you can just walk out of here, do you?" Sophie said mockingly.

Adeline was enraged.

"And I haven't even finished stating all my conditions." At that moment, Sophie suddenly changed the subject.

"What other conditions could you possibly have?" Adeline snapped. "You've already taken the lives of several of my nephews! What more do you want?"

"Of course..." Sophie suddenly turned toward Eliza inside the room, grinning viciously, her expression twisted. "I want all of your lives."
