When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 163

She picked up her phone and opened the trending topics again.

This time, she mustered up the courage to click on the main page, curious to read the netizens' comments.

"No way! This has to be fake! Zayn's having an affair? I don't buy it. That Nadine isn't even half as pretty as Mrs. Forbes-he'd have to be blind to cheat with her."

"Damn, are there any good men left in this world?"

"He definitely cheated-otherwise, Mrs. Forbes wouldn't have humiliated him like that in public. But, wow, Mrs. Forbes is stunning!"

To Josephine's relief, the comments weren't attacking her—instead, they were taking her side.

Still, she couldn't help but worry.

After all, she was aware of how things worked on social media.

Once, there was a model couple in the entertainment industry who divorced because the husband cheated. At first, the public's outrage was targeted squarely at the man and his mistress.

But then, out of nowhere, articles started popping up, dragging the wife through the mud-accusing her of being unemployed, living off her husband, and secretly transferring assets to her biological family.

Overnight, public opinion flipped. People began to sympathize with the cheating husband and even pitied the mistress, while the wife became the villain.

Josephine worried that the same thing might happen to her.

After all, she didn't have her own identity-she was just "Mrs. Forbes." And on the surface, she hadn't worked in the past three years.

Her only hope was that Mason's crisis management plan would prevent any attempts to smear her reputation.

She had assumed Ethan would follow her home again, but to her surprise, after she got out of the car, he requested George drive him back instead.

Honestly, Josephine felt relieved by his decision.

She had just gotten divorced-being seen constantly with a man, especially someone as attractive as Ethan, would only fuel gossip. If rumors spread, explaining herself would be impossible.noveldrama

His decision to leave voluntarily was better for both of them.

Ideally, she hoped he wouldn't contact her again until filming started.

Meanwhile, as George drove out of the estate, Ethan's expression changed instantly.

Just as Josephine had suspected, the Ethan she knew was only one side of him there was another side she had never seen.

Seated in the back, his legs crossed casually, his face turned cold and

unreadable. An icy sharpness filled his gaze, and even his voice carried a chilling edge.

"What did you tell her just now?"

George had been expecting the question. Without hesitation, he recounted every detail of his conversation with Josephine.

By the end, he quickly added, "I only said those things to help you, sir. I meant well. Clearly, Ms. Dunn isn't into your flawless, perfect image."

Ethan finally realized something.

He remembered it vividly-Josephine had once been obsessed with the lead actor from a romantic drama.

She had dragged him along to buy the actor's merchandise, made him watch the entire series with her, and would even squeal whenever the male lead did something charming.

Since then Ethan had paid close attention to the actor's appearance and mannerisms-semi-long hair,

glasses, a refined and elegant demeanor, and a lean but

well-defined physique.

Over the years, he had meticulously modeled himself after that ideal. Not only had he replicated the actor's look, but he had also perfected the same aristocratic charm. If anything, he was confident he had surpassed the original.

He had genuinely believed Josephine would fall for him at first sight.

But even now, there wasn't the slightest hint that she liked him.

It all made sense now-it turned out her taste in men had changed. She no longer

wanted the perfect man.

But what kind of man was she into?

Surely, she wouldn't be interested in someone like Zayn-aggressive and wild, like a rabid dog.

Ethan let out a quiet breath.

If Josephine really preferred that kind of man, then he had no choice but to...
