The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 552 Every Moment Was Pure Torment for Her

Marcus' demonic voice echoed in Yvette's ears as she was forced to stare wide- eyed at the television screen mounted on the wall.

After the footage of wild dogs digging up the Jenkins family's graves ended, the screen transitioned to the massive fire that had engulfed the Jenkins residence years ago.

Yvette had no idea where Marcus had obtained the surveillance footage, but it had been restored in high definition. The screen was filled with towering flames, and the inferno consumed everything in its path. Along with the visuals came the distant, gut-wrenching screams that seeped into her ears.

Tears streamed uncontrollably down Yvette's face.

Her chest ached so much that it felt like she was suffocating, and her eyes burned as if they were bleeding, yet she was powerless to move.

The overwhelming hatred radiating from Marcus suffocated the entire hospital room, making her tremble with instinctual fear.

Throughout it all, Natalie remained seated in her chair, watching Yvette with cold indifference.

Only when Marcus finally let go of Yvette did she hand him a disinfectant wipe.

"She has Umbrahex in her system. Don't touch her next time. Even though we took the antidote in advance, it's best not to take any risks," Natalie said flatly.

Marcus scoffed, wiping his hands. "Yeah, I got it."

"Let's go," Natalie instructed as she stood up, not sparing Yvette another glance. "It's time for Kenton to take over."

Without another word, Marcus followed her out of the hospital room.

The moment they left, Kenton walked back in.

His job was to stay by Yvette's side, making sure she fully experienced every agonizing second of her final days.

"Kenton, why didn't you just send me to prison?" Yvette asked, closing her eyes in despair. "You really played your role well, didn't you? Pretending to be my loyal dog for years while secretly collecting evidence.

"Now that you've given it all to Marcus and the Walkers, they're not even turning me in. What are they planning?"

Kenton burst out laughing. "If we handed a terminally ill patient like you over to the police, they'd have to waste money keeping you alive with medical treatment."

His mocking words made Yvette's despair sink even deeper.

"Throwing you in prison would be too easy. A sinner like you doesn't deserve an escape," he said coldly. "The Walkers and the Holdens handed you over to me because dealing with someone as filthy as you would only stain their hands."

Kenton sneered and added, "Yvette, did you really think that just because you helped the Langley family become the wealthiest in Amberton, Grace and I would be grateful to you?

"You kidnapped Grace's daughter, forced Grace to adopt Victor, then brainwashed her into believing it was the right thing to do. You even arranged for a nurse to take Selena away and sell her.

"Yvette, what's wrong with you? How could Vivian's fire not have burned you, the most deserving of all? By the way, Charlene's in my hands now. When you return Grace's daughter, Megan, I'll let you see Charlene.

"You know, I've learned all the ways you torture people during the years I served you like a dog. Let me think... Where should I start?" He paused, then grinned cruelly. "Oh, by the way, Selena was sold countless times. I'll make sure Charlene goes to the very same buyers for the exact same price."

He chuckled darkly. "Yvette, doesn't that sound like a perfect plan?"

Kenton let out a low chuckle, his gaze filled with hatred. "Yvette, you've always been selfish. You only ever cared about yourself. You even turned your own daughter into a tool for revenge. Charlene is the only one left of your bloodline now."

He pulled up a chair and sat beside the bed. "How about this? I'll go to your daughter and tell her that if she wants to save Charlene, she has to kill you."

He smirked. "Let's see what Lina chooses. Sounds like a perfect plan, doesn't it?"

Yvette's hands clenched into fists. "If you have a problem with me, come at me. Leave my granddaughter out of this."

Kenton shook his head. "That's not how this works. When you forced me to hit my wife, did you think I'd ever forget? Yvette, you enjoyed watching me hurt her. The worse I beat her, the happier you were. That was how you measured my loyalty."

He paused briefly and added, "She was a good woman, and you made her suffer for no reason. However, it doesn't matter now. Julie is safe. Ms. Walker and Mr. Holden's people are protecting her. She doesn't have to live in fear anymore. She doesn't have to put on an act for you."

When he mentioned his wife, Kenton's eyes turned red. He had let Julie down. All these years, he had been under Yvette's control because Megan was in her hands.

Grace had it slightly better. Yvette's only demand for her was to switch out the Walker family's eldest daughter, manage Langley Group and secretly funnel money to her.

Conversely, Kenton was a puppet for Yvette. On the surface, he was the director of the hospital, but in reality, he was nothing more than Yvette's obedient dog, handling all the dirty work she didn't want to touch.

But that wasn't all; Yvette had even forced him to abuse Julie. Even though Julie was made to work as Lucy's assistant, she had to endure daily beatings as a form of loyalty to Yvette.

Kenton's eyes welled with tears, remembering how Julie loved him and understood the torment he had been through. All these years, she had endured and cooperated, but she always urged him to find a way to take Yvette down. They had been waiting for the right moment to act. noveldrama

Finally, the time had come.

The moment Marcus took Natalie to Scarlet Hill, Kenton knew his opportunity had arrived.

"Well, it's our turn to put on a show now," he said as he pulled out his phone.

He made sure Yvette could see the screen before calling her daughter- Charlene's mother, Lina Jenkins.

Lina loved Charlene. There was no doubt in Kenton's mind that for Charlene's

sake, she would be willing to kill Yvette herself.

The call connected quickly.

"Kenton? Why are you calling me?" Lina's voice came through.

Kenton flatly replied, "Lina, you have a choice-Charlene or Yvette. Which one do

you pick?"

"What do you mean?" Lina asked, feeling confused.

"If you want to save your daughter, you have to kill Yvette. If you choose

to save Yyette instead, then

Yvette

Charlene will suffer the same fate as

Selena Kenton said. "Since we've

known each other for years, Öl give

you two days. Think it over carefully. Yvette or Charlene. Make your choice."

Without waiting for a response, Kenton ended the call.

"Just wait, you old hag."

He slapped Yvette across the face. "Remember how you made me hurt my wife? Now, I'm returning the favor."

With that, he yanked her off the hospital bed and started kicking and punching

her.

He controlled his strength, making sure she felt every bit of pain without letting her

die.
