Talented Heiress: A Rose With Thorns

Chapter 914

"Master, we've just received word that Yvette will leave the Dark Organization

base in three days." Varian strode in quickly, bowing respectfully as he reported to the man seated in the room.

"I see."

His eyes, hidden beneath the mask, narrowed slightly. The unfathomable look in them gave nothing away, leaving others guessing at his thoughts.

Seeing the lack of instructions, Varian grew anxious and blurted out eagerly, "Master, this is a golden opportunity!"

If they missed this chance and Yvette returned to Croedal, capturing her would prove far more difficult.

"Master, we must deploy additional forces immediately. We must capture Yvette as soon as she leaves Dark Organization. Please give me one more chance, Master. I swear I'll bring her back!"

"There's no need," the man said with an eerie smile that sent a chill through the air. "I'll handle her myself."

Varian was stunned by his reply. Hence, he quickly tried to dissuade the man by saying, "Master, I will ensure Yvette is captured this time. There's no need for you to personally-"

"That's enough. I've made my decision." The man cut him off forcefully. His sinister smile grew wider, and he savored a thought only he could understand.

"Yvette, don't disappoint me."

Three days later, a sleek black Maybach sped along the road. Inside, Yvette lounged lazily, her long legs casually crossed as she played a game on her phone with an air of indifference.

Seated in the driver's seat, Samuel glanced at Yvette through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but marvel inwardly.

This mission was riddled with danger, yet Yvette remained composed and relaxed. Truly, her nerves of steel were unparalleled.

Just then, a series of loud bangs shattered the calm. Bullets tore through the car's windows.

Yvette didn't so much as flinch. With one hand still deftly controlling her in-game character to eliminate her virtual enemies, her other hand shot out, grabbing Samuel by the back of his neck and yanking him aside just in time to avoid a fatal shot.

The bullet grazed Samuel's face, leaving him pale and trembling in fear. If Yvette hadn't intervened, that shot would've gone straight through his skull.

"DY Organization certainly sent some capable people this time,"

Yvette muttered, her eyeing

dangerously. A cold smirk played on her lips. "They're pulling out all the stops to catch me."

Samuel reported, still shaken, "Ms. Murray, they've shot the tires. The car can't go any further."

"Okay." As Yvette stepped out of the vehicle, a swarm of shadowy figures surrounded her, their guns all trained on her head.

"Yvette, we meet again."

Varian emerged from the shadows, his expression brimming with triumph as he surveyed the scene.

"We've been lying in wait for this moment. Previously, you slipped through our fingers, but this time, I'll personally ensure your capture."

Even with dozens of gun barrels pointed at her, Yvette's expression remained unchanged. Her red lips curled into an icy smile.

"That depends on whether or not you have what it takes," she said with chilling confidence.

"Still so arrogant, even on the brink of death-"

Varian's anger flared, but before he could finish, a black car rolled to a stop beside him.

The change in his demeanor was instant. His face went pale as he hurried to the vehicle, bending low to open the door.

"Master," Varian murmured reverently.

Yvette's icy gaze shifted toward the car, her eyes brimming with a cold fury.

At last, she would come face-to-face with the mastermind behind it all.
