Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 838

Chapter 838:

“Eileen, can you help me figure out what Julio really wants? If he’s upset about my departure, I need to know how I can make amends,” Dalores said.

Eileen’s mind reeled after hanging up with Dalores. She lay on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling. Occasionally, Gabriela would come to offer a gentle kiss or soothingly stroke her face, but nothing could distract Eileen from contemplating how to deal with Julio.

Bryan, having watched her intently more times than he could count, concerned she might be overtaxing her mind, gently lifted her head to let her rest on his lap.

“Stop thinking so hard,” he said softly.

Eileen shared the matter about Julio and Dalores with Bryan, genuinely not wanting to get involved. “It’s clear Julio cares about Dalores, even if he won’t admit it. If he continues like this, Dalores might never forgive him.”noveldrama

Caught in a dilemma, Eileen worried she might eventually be blamed by both Dalores and Julio.

Bryan raised his hand and softly smoothed her furrowed brow with his fingertips until her expression softened.

“I know what to do,” he said. “Tonight, ask Julio to join us for a meal. I’ll take care of the matter.”

“Okay,” Eileen replied. She wrapped her arms around Bryan’s neck, lifted herself, and kissed him on the chin. “You’re now taking care of not only work issues but also my personal troubles.”

“I don’t want all your brain cells to die over the matter, so I have to intervene,” Bryan said, his touch tender. He ran his fingers through her hair and raised an eyebrow. “I’m going to handle some work. You arrange the meal with Julio tonight.”

Eileen sat up and messaged Julio to arrange a dinner for the evening.

In the afternoon, Jessica tried several times to find excuses to come inside the office but was blocked by Bryan. By evening, Eileen, Bryan, and Gabriela arrived at a restaurant that served Onaland cuisine.

In the dimly lit privacy of their room, they settled comfortably, with Bryan graciously allowing Julio to place the order. Julio gestured expansively, ordering every specialty listed on the menu. “You two are setting me up, huh? Won’t be saving your money then.”

“Fair enough, Mr. Ferguson,” Bryan responded nonchalantly.

Soon, the table was laden with dishes. Before Julio could reach for his fork, Bryan said, “Just eating is a bit dull. How about a game?”

He looked directly at Julio, making it clear the suggestion was aimed at him.

Julio paused, eyeing Bryan and Eileen both. “What game?”

“We can roll the dice. The loser has to answer a question,” Bryan replied, pulling a set of dice from his bag and requesting an empty bowl from the waiter. In the first round, Bryan lost.

Julio seized the opportunity to ask, “How long are you staying in Alverton, Mr. Dawson?”

“Until Eileen’s matter here is completed,” Bryan answered.
