Chapter 390 Investigation In Secret
"Oil?"
When Luca touched two of the stairs, his eyes darkened.
Benjamin looked at him and asked, "Luca, what did you find?"
Luca didn't answer him immediately, but put his fingertips on the tip of his nose and sniffed for a while. "Someone poured oil in the stairwell."
Luca recognized it and said in a low voice, "The cooking oil should be taken from the kitchen!"
"What?"
Benjamin frowned, "How could this be?"
Someone must have done it on purpose! How could the cooking oil used in the kitchen be poured in the stairwell? Obviously someone wanted to hurt Daryl on purpose! "Ask the servant to clean it up first."
Luca stood up and said indifferently, "Then tell your father about it when he comes back."
"Okay!"
In the evening, Zack came back from the company after work.
When he got home, he didn't see Daryl who was eating snacks on the sofa as usual. Instead, he saw two kids waiting for him.
"What's up?"
Both of them looked serious. At a glance, Zack knew that they had something to discuss with him.
"Daddy, Mommy almost stumbled when she went upstairs today!"
With a straight face, Benjamin said seriously, "You have to investigate it carefully!"
"Yes, we found that someone had poured oil on the stairs where Daryl stepped."
Luca also said lightly, "Cooking oil. If I'm not wrong, it should be from the kitchen at home."
Hearing that, Zack frowned.
"Sir, I'll check it right away."
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Dillon said.
"Wait!"
Zack ordered in a low voice. "Don't alert the enemy for the time being."
Then Dillon then stopped immediately.
Zack then looked at the two little fellows on the sofa and ordered in a low voice, "I'll go upstairs and ask Daryl. Keep it a secret for the time being." "Okay, daddy."
Although Benjamin wanted to find out the person who hurt his mommy as soon as possible, his daddy didn't want to alert the enemy. Zack should have a reason. Zack went upstairs to look for Daryl soon.
Daryl just woke up and poured herself a glass of water.
Hearing the sound of the door, she knew that Zack had come back.
"Were you sleeping just now?"
As soon as Zack returned to his room, he saw the sleepy look on her face.
"Yes."
Daryl nodded. She put down the glass, reached out to hug him and leaned against him.
He held her in his arms and rested his chin on her soft hair.
"Tell me, what happened at home today?"
His deep voice came from above her head. Daryl guessed that he had known the accident.
So she told him the truth, but her voice was very soft, with a sense of coquetry.
"I went upstairs to have a rest in the afternoon, but I almost stumbled over the staircase. Fortunately, Baylee held me in time."
"Okay."
Then Zack looked down at her and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
Daryl also looked up at him. Her eyes were very gentle. "I have slept for a while and now I get up. Nothing serious. I was just a little scared at that time." "Idiot, don't go upstairs alone anymore."
Zack said in a low voice, "You have to bring people with you wherever you go, understand?"
Daryl wanted to say that it was unnecessary, but after what happened this afternoon, she was indeed a little scared.
She nodded obediently and said, "I see."
"Well, go downstairs and play with Luca and Benjamin for a while. I have some work to deal with."
"Okay."
Zack quickly took her out of the room. He held her hand tightly when they went downstairs.
Obviously, he was still a little scared of the accident happened to her.
"Mommy!"
Benjamin, who was sitting in the living room downstairs, felt a little relieved when he saw his mother coming downstairs with no big problem.
After sending Daryl to them, Zack told Luca to look after her and then went upstairs to the study with Dillon.
"Investigate this accident secretly."
Zack ordered in a low voice, "There
are many people at home, but there is no
rashoring. If we investigate it
rashly, we will alert the enemy."
"Yes, sir."
Dillon nodded.
He thought what Zack said was reasonable.
"And..."
Zack thought for a while and said in a low voice, "Ask Joey to find two people at the base."
As soon as Zack said this, Dillon understood and nodded.
After a while, Zack looked through the documents in front of him and asked in a low voice. "Have you found out everything about Calvin?"
"Yes, sir."
Dillon nodded. "Indeed, Calvin worked for Mr. Anders."
Calvin was a descendant of a
capable man of Anders. He had been involved in Anders' antiques business since he was born. He had been doing great in the
entertainment circle and
as a good
friend of Daryl. By now, he hadnoveldrama
returned to take over a higher
position in Anders' group than his
father and others.
After reading the materials, Zack kept silent for a while and said again.
"I see."
It seemed that Zack still couldn't avoid this trouble.
Since Calvin worked for Anders, he would meet Daryl and Zack sooner or later.
Seeing that Zack didn't look well, Dillon thought to himself, 'Is Mr. Zack still jealous of Calvin because of Mrs. Daryl?'
About ten seconds later, Zack suddenly said, "Put the things sent by Grandpa Anders in the storehouse and lock them!"
"Yes."
Dillon couldn't help but have wild guess. Zack didn't even let go of those gifts. Alas!
Before long, Dillon left the study.
He went downstairs and found Rollins and Hale.
"Find two people from the base."
Said Dillon to his friends.
"What?"
Hearing this, Rollins asked in confusion, "Does boss want to send more people to protect Mrs. Daryl?"
After learning that Daryl was
pregnant, Hale and Rollins had
witnessed all kinds of changes of Zack at work. Gradually, they realized that Daryl was the apple of the whole Ji family during her pregnancy.
"No."
Dillon said in a low voice. "Find a cook and a servant."
He was referring to well-trained subordinates from the base, similar to spy.
They should know many kinds of skills. In addition to ordinary fighting skills, they even had to have senior chefs' certificates in cooking!
But Dillon didn't expect that one day such subordinates would be sent to Zack's house.
"Okay."
Then Hale stood up and made a phone call to look for such subordinates in the base.
"Is that because Mrs. Daryl is not satisfied with the servants?"
Rollins continued to ask.
Dillon sighed and told him what had happened to Daryl this afternoon.
What do you think?
