Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1643

No matter how hard Zoe tried to explain, nobody believed her. The video was right there in plain sight for everyone to see, and how could it be anything but real?noveldrama

The clip showed no signs of being tampered with. Online sleuths, practically detectives, looked for any hint of forgery, but they couldn't find a single flaw. And in the video, Zoe seemed to be enjoying herself way too much for it to be fake. Jackson, on the other hand, hadn't even tied the knot yet and already had the reputation of being betrayed. This was a massive blow to the Woods family, and the high society circles of the Capital were torn between feeling sorry for Jackson and bubbling with anger.

"If it wasn't you, then who was it? Name them, and I'll call off the wedding," Jackson demanded, his eyes narrowing like a hawk, trying to see straight through her.

Zoe kept backing away, at a loss for words. She had no proof and couldn't pin it on Jackson. But that night, she was sure she heard Jackson's voice. How could it not have been him?

"Since you can't name anyone, I've brought the guy from the video. Why don't we clear this up face-to-face?"

Zoe's head snapped up in disbelief, staring at Jackson. This confirmed her suspicions—it was his doing. But why? She loved him so much. Why push her into this nightmare?

Why? Just why?

"Ms. Aisha, we meet again," a voice eerily similar to Jackson's came from behind her. She spun around and saw the man from the video.

"Ms. Aisha is quite unforgettable. I wonder if you remember me fondly. I certainly can't forget you."

Can't forget! Those were the exact words she heard that night.

"It wasn't you. How could it be you?" Zoe frantically tried to show everyone the texts Kimberly had sent her. It was from the first time Jackson had asked her out. She was suspicious but also thrilled. But no matter how many times she refreshed, the messages were gone.

Gone!

Panicking, she shoved people aside. This was a live broadcast to the entire world. She was trapped. Behind her was the endless ocean, ahead of her, Jackson and his crew. She had nowhere to go.

Staying meant humiliation. If the Larkin family back in the States found out, they'd never let her live in peace. At that stage, death seemed like the only way to save the Larkin family's centuries-old legacy.

But she didn't want to die.

"Catch her," the Larkin family head ordered, and several servants rushed toward her.

If she just up and left, the Larkin family from the Capital would be done for. He had fought too hard for his position and wasn't about to give it up easily.

Zoe, trained in martial arts, had no problem fending off a few servants. She fled the island, quickly hopped onto the yacht she had arrived on, and kept hiding. But no one could catch her.

She moved like a slippery eel, but no matter how much she dodged, the yacht was only so big. Getting caught was just a matter of time.

Cornered with no escape, Zoe knew that if she was captured, she'd never break free. With a determined glance at the ocean behind her, she took a deep breath and leapt into the churning waves.
