A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 425 The Charm of a Confident Lady

It might've seemed like Melody was getting Sierra out of a pinch, but she was actually reminding Hayley who the thief was.

Hayley glanced at Sierra but didn't immediately reprimand her. Instead, she asked icily, "Did they call you 'Mrs. Gray'? What's your husband's name?"

Displeasure flashed across Melody's face. She detested hearing others address Sierra as "Mrs. Gray," and she certainly didn't like it when people put Sierra and Theo in the same sentence.

"My husband is Theo Gray. Ms. Jenkins, I honestly have no idea how the ring got into my purse. You have to believe me," Sierra responded after some hesitation.

Hayley didn't say anything. She rubbed her ring on her right middle finger and fell into deep contemplation.

Lauren noticed that Hayley seemed to have bought Sierra's explanation and lost her cool.

"Ms. Jenkins, you might not know this, but the Shaw family has been in decline for a long time. She's nothing more than a fallen aristocrat. She might've married herself into the Gray family, but she's still broke."

Hayley instantly stopped rubbing her ring. She raised her head in bewilderment and swept her eyes across Sierra's sapphire necklace. She asked, "Did you just say that Theo's wife is broke?"

Lauren mistakenly thought that Hayley's focus was on Theo, so she hurriedly added, "She's penniless, and that's a fact. Mr. Gray doesn't love her at all. He was forced to marry her because Mr. Gray Senior made him do so."

"How do you know that he was forced to do it?" Hayley asked with a blank face. Lauren looked so desperate that she found her to be absurd.

Initially, Melody was just enjoying the moment, but she could sense what Lauren was about to blurt out. So, she hastily said, "Lori."

"That's because Theo is actually in love with Melody. She would've been his wife if Sierra hadn't come out of nowhere and selfishly taken him for herself."

Melody and Lauren spoke at the same time. Hayley raised an eyebrow, her gaze traveling between Sierra and Melody.

Then, she lowered her head and glanced at her ring.

So, this was all about a jealous feud, and she was the hapless fool who paid the price.

Why, the Jones family truly had instilled "wonderful" values and lessons in their descendants. Gordon turned a blind eye while his daughter tried to take someone else's husband away.

What was worse, Melody even conspired with others to set Sierra up.

Hayley scoffed internally. If Melody had put as much effort and creativity into the family business, the Jones family would've outshone the Gray family long ago.

"Lori, mind what you say," Melody hastily explained when she noticed everyone casting subtle but probing gazes her way.

Then, she looked at Sierra and felt a little resentful. For some reason, she felt the need to say something. "Theo and I belong in the past. Ms. Shaw, please don't read too much into it."

The quick-witted party guests' eyes flickered. The way they saw it, she would've been better off keeping e been quiet. No one would've read too

much into it if she had. Now the net

had opened her mouth, she had basically confirmed what Lauren said.

Sierra knew Melody's intentions, and she couldn't help but feel a little sulky. Standing straight, she

responded icily, "I didn't read toonet

She noticed how Melody's face reddened. Taking a step forward, she put on a confident grin and added, "Ms. Jones, I will gladly step aside and not pester you if you can make Theo divorce me for your sake.

"The looming question is whether you can actually pull it off."noveldrama

Melody was utterly dumbfounded as she stared at Sierra in a daze.

What did Sierra mean when she said, "Pull it off"? Was she talking about getting Theo to go through the divorce for Melody's sake?

Melody knew better than anyone that he would never do it now, but that didn't mean she would give up.

Clenching her fists, she continued to stare at Sierra, who appeared dominant, as displeasure and resentment flashed in her eyes.

Melody swore to herself that she would never let Sierra have Theo. She'd rather ruin him if she couldn't make him hers.

Meanwhile, Hayley gazed at both of

interest. When she glanced at

Melody, there was a subtle disdain in her eyes. However, they were with some respect when she looked

at Sierra.
